The dishes are supplied with a patented "flying saucer" puck that has a concave curved bottom surface to provide more contact between dish and puck leading to superior grinding performance. The puck also has an off-center, truncated hole through it to assist in the mixing of the sample to assure homogeneity. Bowls are available in hardened steel in both standard and low-chrome options.
