PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Ultrasonic processing.
Matched to your sample.

The Q500 supports laboratory-scale nanoparticle dispersion, particle size reduction, emulsification and biological sample preparation. A programmable digital controller combines adjustable amplitude with timed and pulsed processing.

The standard direct-sonication system includes a 1/2 in probe with a replaceable tip and handles up to 1 L, depending on the sample and probe. Microtips extend the system to smaller vessels, while a cup horn supports indirect treatment of samples in sealed tubes.

Flow-cell accessories accommodate recirculating or continuous processes. Real-time wattage and joule displays provide process feedback, while overload circuitry protects the system when a fault is detected.

CAPABILITIES

Features

  • Programmable processing time and amplitude
  • Pulsed output for temperature-sensitive samples
  • Elapsed time, power in watts and energy in joules displayed during processing
  • Fault detection and overload protection
  • Amplitude adjustable from 20% to 100%
  • Compatible with microtips, cup horns, multi-tip horns and flow cells
  • Lead-free, RoHS-compliant construction
Small-volume microtip probe options
Select the probe around sample volume. Cup-horn and flow-cell arrangements are separate configuration choices.

APPLICATION FIT

Where it works

PARTS & ACCESSORIES

Available components

Sound enclosure

Sound enclosure

Acoustic enclosure with approximately 20 dBA noise reduction, internal converter support, viewing window and coolant or temperature-probe ports. Exterior: 13.5 W × 13 D × 30.5 H in. Excludes the separately enclosed microplate horn configuration.

Microtip probes

Microtip probes

Small-volume probes: 1/16 in for 0.2-5 mL; 1/8 in for 1-15 mL; 1/4 in for 5-50 mL. A stepped 1/8 in microtip with coupler supports 0.5-15 mL.

Four-tip horn

Four-tip horn

Parallel direct sonication of four samples. The 1/8 in version covers 1-15 mL per sample with 1.05 in tip spacing; the 1/4 in version covers 10-50 mL with 1.6 in spacing. Replacement tips are available.

Low-volume continuous flow cell

Low-volume continuous flow cell

316L stainless steel flow cell for mixing, dispersion and recirculation of batches above 1 L. Internal volume 65 mL; maximum flow 0.5 L/min; 1/4 in hose barbs. Compatible flanged 1/2 in solid or replaceable-tip probes and an external water jacket are available separately.

Cup horn

Cup horn

Indirect sonication of sealed tubes in a high-intensity water bath. Acrylic cup inner diameter 5.5 in; horn diameter 2.5 in. Two racks accommodate polystyrene and standard polypropylene tubes. Cooling connections support temperature control.
