START WITH THE TASK

What needs to change?

Particle reduction, a more consistent distribution, deagglomeration or representative preparation: begin with the outcome.

ROTOR MILL SELECTION ASSISTANT

Find a practical starting point.

Start with the material and the result. Compare a preliminary recommendation with the closest alternatives, then validate it with your sample.

Tell us about the task.

SUGGESTED STARTING POINT

ZM 300 Ultra Centrifugal Mill

ZM 300 Ultra Centrifugal Mill
  • Feed below 10 mm
  • Published fineness below 40 µm
  • Confirm material, dispersion-free dry preparation and sample quantity

This is preliminary guidance, not a performance guarantee.

Final selection requires a representative material trial and review of the complete configuration.

HOW ROTOR MILLS WORK

Apply the force.
Control the discharge.

A rotor accelerates material against tools, inserts or a screen. Impact, shearing or friction reduces it until the selected outlet and sieve allow discharge.

01

Match the feed.

Define the largest piece, hardness, brittleness, fibers and elasticity.

02

Set the operating point.

Choose rotor design, speed and sieve for the sample and target result.

03

Recover and evaluate.

Review collection, dust handling, size distribution and sample integrity.

COLLECTION & PROCESS CONTROL

Keep the sample.
Manage the heat and dust.

Compatible cyclone collection assists airflow and discharge, can reduce heat buildup and helps recover fines. Review the suction source, filters, vessel and complete installation for the selected mill.

  • Higher recovery with an appropriate collection setup
  • Cleaning methods to manage carryover between samples
  • Temperature-aware preparation and sample handling
  • Feeding, collection and downstream equipment integration

Cyclone collection does not make every process dust-free or suitable for hazardous powders. TWISTER includes a cyclone; options and cold-grinding compatibility vary on the other models.

  • Battery materials
  • Minerals & ceramics
  • Cosmetics & personal care
  • Environmental & recycling
  • Biomass & fibers
  • Quality-control samples
