Six grinding positions
Prepare up to six jar samples at once, each with a useful sample quantity of up to 20 ml, depending on the material.
MORE SAMPLES IN EACH RUN
Process parallel samples with six grinding stations and a frequency of up to 35 Hz. The MM 500 vario brings higher sample throughput to dry, wet and manually precooled cryogenic preparation.

THE MODEL IN FOCUS
Prepare up to six jar samples at once, each with a useful sample quantity of up to 20 ml, depending on the material.
Up to 35 Hz supports rapid pulverization and mixing. Select frequency and duration for each method rather than assuming one cycle fits all samples.
Store 12 SOPs and four cycle programs with up to 99 repeats for routine or extended processing.

HOW IT WORKS
Grinding jars oscillate in a horizontal position. The balls’ inertia drives them into the sample at the rounded jar ends. Impact and friction reduce the material while the motion mixes it.
Match ball size, number, jar material, filling level, frequency and time to the sample. Use smaller beads for compatible bead-beating methods; use a validated liquid and dispersion method for wet grinding.
Feed size, final fineness and useful sample quantity depend on the material, tools and operating conditions. Jar volume is not the sample filling volume. The finest result and largest feed or batch are not simultaneous guarantees.

METHOD & CONFIGURATION
Multiple grinding stations help laboratories compare formulations, prepare replicates and homogenize biological samples in parallel. Choose the adapter around the vessel and method; maximum vial count is different from the number of grinding stations.
BUILD THE RIGHT SETUP
Select jars, balls and supporting accessories around your material and analysis. Confirm the complete configuration and what is included in the quotation.

Use compatible screw-top jars from 1.5 to 50 ml. Tool materials include hardened steel, stainless steel, tungsten carbide, zirconium oxide, agate and PTFE.

Depending on the adapter and vial format, process up to 50 × 1.5/2 ml vials, 60 × 0.2 ml vials or 20 × 5 ml vials per batch. Confirm the loading arrangement.

Compatible steel jars may be manually precooled in liquid nitrogen for suitable samples. This is a pre-cooling method, not automatic cooling during the run.
